Vocabulary associations as a context for research on the vocabulary of the thematic fields BAPTISM and FUNERAL in the language of the inhabitants of Wielkopolska villages

Summary/Abstract: The objects of the research are word associations related to the ritual perspective (asso- ciations to the words baptism, funeral) and biological perspective (associations to the words birth, death). Linguistic data were obtained using a survey method in an online survey conducted between 22 April 2021 and 22 May 2021 via Google Forms. The aim of this article is to analyse word associa- tions in the context of building a questionnaire for dialectological research. The survey is intended to enable changes to be made to the questionnaire for field research. The data obtained were organised into semantic fields and analysed from a frequency and generational perspective. The results of the observation are cognitive (the analysis of the results has made it possible to identify lexemes supe- rior to the fields) and practical (introduction of changes to the questionnaire, as well as to choose a research perspective).
