The Need and Possibilities of Research on Planting Traditions in Lithuanian Countryside Farmsteads.

Summary/Abstract: The article reviews the main legal acts related to the regulation of implementation of countryside landscape policy in the country, analyses the formation aspects of ethnic cultural peculiarities of countryside landscape, discusses the attitude of residents to the immovable heritage of ethnical culture and evaluation methods of planting traditions of farmsteads, analyses the results of social survey, presents analysis of the need for research on planting traditions of farmsteads and provides the application possibilities of the research results. The major attention is given to the planting in the peasant’s farmstead as to the biocomponent of its ethnographic architectural ensemble which has features of ethnic cultural peculiarities and reflects the distinction of countryside landscape the best.
