Summary/Abstract: The technologies of the Information Age will revolutionise the way in which military actions are carried and will also completely change the physiognomy of conflicts. The most significant advantages provided by the new means of waging wars will derive from the quantity, quality, high-level processing and the way of using pieces of information. The information environment offers a plus for the armed forces that are connected to the new technology. These advantages consist in a high exploitation of information using network facilities. At the tactical level, radio communications are especially used because this kind of tools provides mobility and the necessary bandwidth in order to send the required information.
