Summary/Abstract: The text deals with the radical leftist movements in the politics of the German ‘provinces’ Deutschböhmen and Sudetenland which were declared in the autumn of 1918 in the frontier areas of the Czech lands. Although the centre of Czech-German politics considerably shifted to the left, there were still individuals and groups that hoped for an accelerated radical reconstruction of society. The earliest possible unification with Germany, which seemed to be on the verge of revolution, was seen as instrumental. In addition to politicians and journalists, so-called military councils consisting of military veterans played a role in the extreme left movement. Nevertheless, the occupation of the two ‘provinces’ by the Czechoslovak Army halted any possible development.
