Summary/Abstract: The complexity of asymmetric warfare at the beginning of the 21st century has highlighted many changes in the way war is fought. A great diversity of forces confront, showing a large diversity of doctrines, military or paramilitary structures with different weapon systems and technologies, adopting more and more ingenious tactics, techniques and procedures, and having the according support of intelligence and logistics. These new realities request a new training environment for military operations, involving modern training technologies and facilities, in accordance with NATO and EU standards. Most of the armed forces of the NATO member states carry out simulation training, at all echelons, from the individual level to the theatre of military operations level.
