Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the gender regime of the Black Sea Region. Aiming at understading the women’s social status, it centers on the data regarding women’s participation in education and employment and also examines women’s position within the family. With this regard, drawing upon the statistics gathered by the Turkish Statistics Institution (TUİK) in the region, this paper explores the social status of women in the Black Sea Region compared to their male counterparts in the region and to women’s general social status around the whole country. Descriptive and critical methods are used as the main analysis methods throughout the paper.
