Summary/Abstract: Professional development is an uneven process during which a person experiences various barriers. Barriers to professional development are a necessary factor for the development of a professional's personality. Professionally determined barriers stimulate the person, actualize his potential and allow him to move to the next stage of development. The most common barriers in the professional development of teachers is fear of new situations (new laws and regulations, new requirements of the Ministry of Education, new curricula, etc.). This is related to the construction of a stereotype of teaching and work, which leads to a reluctance to change and take risks.
