Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the question of the relationship between ethics and physics in the philosophy of Epicurus. It is established that physics plays a primary role in Epicurus. According to Epicurus physical theory contributes to the formation of a person's special view of the world, which eliminates fears of the forces of nature, elevates above social reality, frees from myths and ensures a life without anxiety and unrest. Ethics in Epicurus plays the role of an additional teaching, which is designed to get rid of empty desires and anxieties, the source of which is society.
