Summary/Abstract: The article is an essayistic contribution to the history of the friendship between Miron Białoszewski and Maria Janion, which was established late in the former’s life and lasted until his death. The essay is based, on the one hand, on the diaristic entries of the poet, fragments of his work, and on the other hand, on the statements of the researcher of the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences and her selected historical-literary works. The friendship of non-heteronormative people is shown here as a form of intellectual community, based on mutual respect, understanding, solidarity, as well as queer transgression that triggered gossip. In fact, gossip became a key to reading Białoszewski’s work, pointing to the feminist potential of his writing, which the author juxtaposes with the notion of écriture féminine.
