Three Flamenco Dancers – Three Transcultural Stories. Transcultural Identity Ten Years Later

Summary/Abstract: This text analyses the explanatory potential of the concept of transcultural identity, in- scribed in the broader framework of terms such as “transculturality” and “transcultura- tion.” The author refers to a study of foreign flamenco dancers in Seville she conducted ten years ago. In the new research, she goes back to three of her respondents to learn about their subsequent transcultural steps. New, in-depth interviews are confronted with the previous research and analysed through the lens of transcultural identity ex- tended by the concept of transcultural capital.
