Summary/Abstract: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has evolved over thousands of years and TCM practitioners have used various approaches to address health problems and to prevent diseases. The Chinese have long believed humans are closely connected to the natural world and that the seasons can affect our bodies. When we allow our energy to resonate with that of the world around us, then we create health and vitality. We are exposed to the constant changes of the seasons and inevitably experience their energetic change. TCM theory explains how each organ and season are related. Some organs are more prone to imbalance during certain seasons, which leads to various health issues. This article explains the relationship between seasons and organs, provides tips and recommendations to address seasonal illnesses, as well as to prevent them because, after all, prevention is the highest form of medicine.
