Summary/Abstract: The text begins with an analysis of the formula of the question itself, in order to then refer to the sources of philosophy and on this basis to pose the question of philosophy today. It first reconstructs the formal definition of philosophy as a special kind of dynamics with a structure of acting, to then refer to its content. Situating its reflection in the area of the phenomenological and post-structural tradition (with reference mainly to Martin Heidegger and Jacques Derrida), it identifies the sphere of values as an area of essential philosophical practice, while pointing to the key categories of the Other and love as defining both the formal and content definition of philosophy today. In doing so, it engages the tradition of axiology, particularly Max Scheler’s material ethics of value and Emmanuel Lévinas project of ethics, in the area of thought
