Summary/Abstract: The decision on street renaming is not merely an organizational issue, but it is also motivated politically and depends on the will of political actors to promote certain aspects of historical and cultural heritage. As a result, toponymy constitutes an important aspect of the symbolic landscape, indicating what kind of historical narrative dominates in particular area. In this study, the quantitative data of Statistics Poland (GUS) is to be used in order to indicate certain tendencies regarding street renaming in Poland, especially in the context of the second wave of decommunization after 2016.
