Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present the modern possibilities for applying the digital form of comics in formal adult education. It is structurally divided into three logical units: the first presents domestic and foreign relevant literature on the application of comics in teaching, the second unit deals with the conceptual definition of comics and digital comics, and the third observes practical possibilities for using comics in adult education. The third unit is of particular importance because there are no papers in professional periodicals that previously dealt with that area. Comics as a teaching tool or method of work has a significant tradition in our primary school education. Professional literature presents numerous examples in which comics can be used at all levels of education, from school to university, and are particularly suitable for motivating students and adult learners or presenting teaching content that is considered difficult to understand. The digital literacy of adult learners and teachers can be significantly improved by applying ICT in the teaching process, where the creation of digital comics plays an increasingly important role.
