Summary/Abstract: The New Economy comprises, among others, the term of globalization as one of its basic characteristics, but will that globalization, and how, lead towards moderate the differences between the level of economic and social development of regions of the world? In this paper we investigate the problems of levels of development of different economies and discuss the need for development strategies that result in appropriate use of resources and of output.
