Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the State Duma election held in the Russian Federation and the Crimean Peninsula on September 18, 2016, within a cultural sociological framework. The analysis is done by taking into account national and international variables such as the election boycott and fraud, the new election system, the situation of the opponents, statements of countries that recognize and do not recognize the election results, etc. The 2016 elections are important because they were the first State Duma elections held in Crimea after being annexed by Russia via referendum game. Because with this election, a new political and socio-cultural process started. The article is based on primary data obtained through the interview and observation techniques of the qualitative research method, on the one hand, and secondary data obtained from academic and media sources, on the other hand.
