Summary/Abstract: This research aimed to develop the "Dating Violence Coping Scale" (DVCS) to assess coping behaviors related to dating violence. The participants of the study consisted of individuals aged eighteen and above who were not in a marital relationship. Scale data were collected on an online platform from various areas of Turkey, and exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were applied to the data. The EFA results indicated that the scale consisted of five factors, explaining 64.84% of the total variance. These factors were named Defensive Coping, Self-Support, Planning , Spiritual Coping, and Seeking Support. The scale items have factor loadings ranging from .46 to .85. The goodness-of-fit values obtained from CFA were as follows: χ2/df=3.67, p=.001, SRMR=0.08; NFI=0.93; IFI=0.95; CFI=0.95; RMSEA=0.08. The Cronbach's Alpha and Omega coefficients obtained as a result of the reliability analysis are .97 and .96, respectively, for the entire scale. The results obtained demonstrate that the DVCS is a valid and reliable measurement instrument for assessing coping behaviors related to dating violence in unmarried individuals aged eighteen and above.
