THE EVALUATION OF THE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS WATCHED DURING THE TEACHING CAREER STAGE PROCESS ACCORDING TO TEACHER'S OPINIONS

Summary/Abstract: This study aims to determine teachers' opinions about the educational videos watched during the teaching career stages. This study was conducted with a case study, one of the qualitative research designs. The participants of the study consist of 13 teachers from different branches working in Van Province in the 2022-2023 academic year. All the participants work in public schools. Participants were determined according to easily accessible sampling, one of the purposive sampling methods. The data of the study were collected with a structured interview form consisting of four questions. Content analysis, one of the qualitative analysis types, was used to analyze the collected data. As a result of the research, the teachers stated that with videos, they tried to increase personal development, make classroom management effective, keep up with the developing technology, special education, guidance, education, social interaction, communication, and school safety basic activities. In addition, they stated that the videos watched were insufficient for the exam, there was a plain explanation in the relevant materials, the videos were longer than necessary, they were not of a quality that would not attract the attention of the individual, and visual materials did not adequately support them. The teachers, whose opinions were asked, stated that the length of the video content negatively affected their social life, they started their daily life with stress, experienced physical and psychological fatigue, neglected their families, and caused them not to enjoy their holidays. The teachers also stated that in addition to the problems caused by watching so many videos, they experience test anxiety. Videos can be rearranged in line with teachers' opinions.
