Summary/Abstract: This paper attempts to explore the intersection of psychoanalysis and ecocriticism in Japan, specifically, with reference to the literary descriptions in 2:46 Aftershocks: Stories from the Ja- pan Earthquake (2011) from an ecopsychological perspective. The study focuses on interpreting and discussing four aspects of how people who experienced the Great East Japan Earthquake dealt with their feelings of inferiority, acc- ception of reality, man's relationship with nature and equality in a horizontally structured society. In addition, the article highlights the potential of using ecopsychology to po- sition environmental issues in the world's literature, with the aim of making readers better understand both eastern and western perspectives and highlighting the necessity of living in harmony with nature.
