Summary/Abstract: The article is an interpretation, based on the hypothesis of literary affect, of selected novels by Thomas Bernhard made in the perspective of the metaliterary and anthropological views of Witold Gombrowicz. The essential thesis of this interpretation assumes that in the works of the author of Disorder there is a reevaluation of the category of "disgust," an affect that first constitutes the basic strategy of radical cultural critics, and then undergoes a reworking using the poetics of satire and comedy. First, for Bernhard and his protagonists, reading Schopenhauer is crucial, then Nietzsche and precisely Gombrowicz.
