Summary/Abstract: The horse is one of the animals that have held an important place throughout human history, both as a means of transport and as a symbol of loyalty, power and freedom. The relationship between the Turks and the horse dates back to ancient times. This relationship, which started with the domestication of the horse, has also formed the basis of a cultural, social and literary heritage. The horse was not only an animal for Turks, but also a friend, and a travelling companion and played an important role in Turkish culture and literature. Proverbs about the horse, while describing the emotional bond of the Turkish people with the horse and the value given to it, also reflect social norms, values and moral teachings. Proverbs, as one of the most important elements of oral folk culture, are aphoristic expressions reflecting the common memory of the Turkish people. Proverbs reflect not only the richness and aesthetic power of language but also the mindset, values and outlook on life of the society. Our oral culture tradition shows that proverbs occupy an important place in this tradition and continue to be used effectively in social life. This study discusses "horse" and "proverbs", which have an important place in Turkish culture and literature. To enrich the study, proverbs in Turkmen Turkish are also analysed together with proverbs in Turkey Turkish. While analysing these proverbs about horses, it was aimed to determine how active the cultural unity between the Turks and Turkmens living in Anatolia is in the context of these proverbs. As a result of this research on proverbs related to horses, it has been determined that the cultural unity between the two societies is at an advanced level and that proverbs and horses have an important place in the social life of both societies.
