Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of teaching the 8th grade "simple machines" unit objectives in a children's playground, supported by out-of-school learning environment activities structured with the flipped learning model, on the academic achievement of students. In the research, a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-post-test control group, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The sample of the research is 44 students at the 8th-grade level studying at a public secondary school in Karaman city centre in the second semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. Research data were collected with an achievement test for the 8th grade "simple machines" unit. As a result of the research, out-of-school learning-supported science education structured with flipped learning and out-of-school learning-supported science education increased the academic success of students. Suggestions were made, such as teaching science lessons supported by out-of-school learning activities structured with flipped learning and structuring out-of-school learning activities with flipped learning.
