THE CONCEPT OF SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Summary/Abstract: Each rural area has a specific economical structure, specificity that results from the diversity of natural and demographic resource of the area. But this very important economical principle, that describes the tight correlation, at least at a theoretical level, between the natural resource structure and the economic structure of the areas, generally, and the rural areas, specially, in most of the cases has not remained the same in the area economy. Finding solutions for the economic problem of the mostly agricultural areas, spread over the majority of the rural space and for the economic and social underdevelopment problem, must be a high priority of the sustainable development policy in Romania.
