Summary/Abstract: Art songs originated from the Romanticism period in the 18th and 19th centuries, and are one of the classic forms of Western music. Chinese art songs originated around 1920s, and their compositions have an extremely deep connection with German and Austrian art songs. The study of the relationship between early Chinese art songs and German and Austrian art songs not only helps us to deeply understand the great artistic achievements made by the pioneers of modern Chinese music, but also helps us to explore a suitable path for the development of Chinese vocal art based on the successful practice of our ancestors and the combination of East and West.
