Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to describe the method of sound exploration and perception through the project Music for Bodies by Kaffe Matthews. Music for Bodies is a collaborative research project that creates new 3D music and physical interfaces to enjoy music directly through the body. New ways of listening were explored through the constitutive elements of this project: vibrations, ears, and sound. The path to sonification, experimentations with sound, and the Sonic Bed, one of the source of ideas embodied in one of the many concepts of this kind, will be also reviewed.
