Summary/Abstract: Vocabulary acquisition means the process of learning and acquiring new words andtheir meanings. Building a strong vocabulary is essential for effectivecommunication, reading comprehension, and overall language proficiency. Civilengineering involves designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructureprojects like roads, bridges, and buildings. To be successful in this field, it is importantto have a good understanding of technical terms and concepts in English, which isthe universal language of communication. Building a robust civil engineeringEnglish vocabulary is crucial for effectively communicating with colleagues, clients,and stakeholders, as well as understanding complex engineering principles andprocedures. One way to improve the civil engineering vocabulary is to familiarizewith key technical terms and definitions.
