Summary/Abstract: Teaching English for the Applied Modern Languages specialisations for almost 15years I have reached the conclusion that teaching translation to non-philologicalstudents is a tricky process. Moreover, teaching idioms, expressions, specializedvocabulary related to travelling and tourism proves to be a real challenge for students.The present study focuses on a constrastive investigation of Tourism terminology inEnglish and Romanian. This paper scratched the surface of what a corpus can reavealand may give you a flavour of the possibilities open to further research.
