Summary/Abstract: Necim Gül is an Arabic language independent researcher and enthusiast with a focus on the Spoken Arabic of Siirt, besides being one of the native speakers of this variety of Arabic.He was born (in 1972) and raised in Siirt, Turkey. Not long before graduating from theFaculty of Pedagogy and Education within the Dicle University, in Diarbakır, he received aposition as deputy director of a high-school in the city of Siirt. On top of his researches on the Arabic spoken in the area, he also writes poetry, both in Turkish and Siirti Arabic (being probably the first Siirti speaker to ever write verses in this variety).
