Summary/Abstract: The landscape of audiovisual translation has changed significantly in this era of globalization due to advances in digital technology. The aim of this study is to analyze the translation procedures used in translating a song of Walt Disney’s Animated Musical Movies; namely "We do not talk about Bruno" from the American computer-animated film "Encanto “Family Madrigal" into Arabic language. Methodologically, this study applies a comparative analysis framework developed by Schjoldager et al. (2008) to investigate the procedures used in translating the song into two varieties of Arabic language, i.e. Egyptian Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic. The research seeks to uncover both similarities and differences between the two translated versions through a descriptive qualitative analysis. Initially, the findings for the two versions of the Arabic translation show that of the four procedures analyzed in this study; Direct Translation, Adaptation, Paraphrase, and Deletion, “direct translation” is the most frequently used in both versions, although it was used much more in the Modern Standard Arabic variety than in the Egyptian Arabic variety, showing a predominant adherence to the source text as albeit at the expense of sacrificing certain artistic nuances. While the translation into Egyptian Arabic emphasizes fidelity to the target text, it effectively adapts the essence of the source material. Prominent procedures like direct translation, adaptation, paraphrase, and deletion emerge respectively as prevalent procedures employed in the dubbing process of the song. It sheds light on the predominant procedures employed and the subsequent ramifications stemming from their widespread use, thus offering significant contributions to our understanding of the Audiovisual Translation studies.
