Summary/Abstract: In order to better plan and implement the teaching of physical education, it is necessary to permanently monitor the growth and development of the child's organism, as well as the student's motor skills. The aim of the research was to determine the effects of an innovative physical education curriculum lasting 15 weeks, a total of 45 hours of physical education, on the motor skills of elementary school-aged boys for the purpose of better planning and organizing physical education lessons. The research was carried out on a sample of 85 boys who attend Elementary School "Žarko Zrenjanin" in Novi Sad, aged 12.65±0.6 years, students in 6th grade. For the purpose of the research, motor abilities were assessed with the help of standardized tests: strength, agility, flexibility and aerobic endurance. The research was longitudinal in nature with two evaluations of motor skills, at the beginning and end of the treatment. Boys improved the most after the application of the treatment in the variables for evaluating aerobic endurance, the Shuttle Run Test (p=.00) and explosive leg strength, Standing Long Jump (p=.00). Physical education lessons, controlled, systematically guided, directed and well planned, contribute to positive changes in the motor domain, accompanied by physical growth and development in accordance with the child's age.
