Summary/Abstract: The work is based on theoretical research analysis within the purview of the students' motivation in the beginner's level of mathematics teaching, with special reference to textbook as a cultural-supportive aid that contributes to it. The aim of this work is considering the role and importance of textbook as cultural-supportive aid taking into consideration the motivation of students in the beginner's level of mathematics teaching. The work consists of two parts. The first part is about theoretical starting point of concept of cultural-supportive aids which function is to motivate students in the beginner's level of mathematics teaching. In the second, main part, attention has been given to the description of relevant researches and theories that are related to textbook, observed through the concept of cultural-supportive aids. According to all viewed researches and theories, we came to general conclusion, that an adequate motivation of student in the beginner's level of mathematics teaching can be realized by using a textbook that is well written in terms of respecting all educational principles of its design and it is mainly directed towards motivational tasks, the presence of differentiation.
