Summary/Abstract: Conditionals pose a number of questions. Their linguistic form seems to have been an object of interest to research in a whole range of fields including syntax, semantics, pragmatics or discourse. That is because conditionals have a great variety both of form and interpretation. They are an area of language use where the interaction of form, meaning and context is exceptionally complex and fascinating. The present article attempts to put forward the most important accounts of conditional analysis and typology based on a rich Spanish as well as international bibliographic material.
