Summary/Abstract: Within the graphemic system, Polish, like many other languages using the Latin alphabet, displays a certain characteristic analogy with the ideographic Sino-Japanese script used in the Japanese language. The analogy involves the presence of a small set of digital ideograms used to write numerical expressions. These expressions, contrary to digital rows representing mathematical formulae, are elements of the natural language lexicon, and their digital notation is abbreviated following the principle of linguistic economy. This principle prompts users to annotate digital ideograms with alphabetical markers that cue their pronunciation in the text.
