Considerations of Establishment, Organization and Development Central County Division “Astra” Tighina (1925-1935)

Summary/Abstract: After 1923, within the Central Committee of Astra, the idea program to expand the institution’s structures in provinces outside of Transylvania and Banat in interwar decades. As early in 1924, the Astra county detachment from Cetatea-Albă was established, through the involvement of officer Mihail Dumitrașcu and deputy Teodor Iacobescu, and in the second part of August 1925, the Astra Tighina county detachment, following the involvement of the same captain – magistrate M. Dumitrașcu and the pharmacist M. Marian and the lawyer Dumitru Cazacu originally from Satulung-Brașov, supported in their constitutive-organizational manifestations by Cluj University Professor Onisifor Ghibu. The study that we submit to your attention will present to the reader the synthetic history of this county structure of Astra from Bessarabia in the time interval 1925-1935, with a focus on the establishment, organization, evolution and specific steps of Astra in this central county organization. According to the Purpose assumed by the Association in the interwar decades, both the organization and the implementation of social pedagogy and adult education initiatives, as they were undertaken by Astra in the interwar decades, both in the urban and in the rural environment. The central committee of Astra in Sibiu sent books, periodicals, statutes and regulations to be able to establish communal cultural circles in 30 localities in the respective Bessarabian County.
