Summary/Abstract: Postponed by a year, due to the struggle for power between the National Liberal Party and the National Peasant Party, and expected by public opinion in the country, the celebrations organized in May 1929 in Alba Iulia aimed to present the achievements of the Romanian administration, in front of international public opinion, a proof that the Romanian unitary national state was already a legitimate and enduring geopolitical reality. The program of the Union celebrations, which were to take place in Bucharest, Mărășești and Alba Iulia, was published in the “Monitorul Oficial” on May 8, 1929. According to this program, Monday, May 20, 1929, was the last day of the celebrations and was to takes place in Alba Iulia. The Union Museum in Alba Iulia was also inaugurated during the celebrations.These impressive celebrations brought Alba Iulia back to Romanians and foreign guests, with all its symbolism. The foreign missions, the press agencies, the personalities from abroad who were present ascertained the popular foundations of the traditional Romanian politics. Delegations from France, England, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, USA and Japan participated in the celebrations. In the context of the accentuation of revisionism, the Union Celebrations organized by the Romanians in 1929 acquired the significance of an act of foreign policy.
