Summary/Abstract: This research aims to explore the experiences and perspectives of journalists who worked during the communist era, focusing on how they recall their professional status and the privileges they had. Through in-depth interviews with former journalists, this study seeks to shed light on the complexities of media professionals’ lives in a politically charged environment, examining how they perceived their social status and professional identity.
