Summary/Abstract: This article celebrates the seventieth birthday of Petr Mareš, a prominent Czech linguist affiliated with the Institute of Czech Language and Theory of Communication at Charles University. Mareš has dedicated over fifty years to the institution, contributing significantly to the fields of stylistics, semiotics, and film theory. His work includes extensive research on the stylistic qualities of Josef Čapek's literary works and the semiotic heterogeneity of communication. Mareš has also been involved in numerous scientific grants and projects, and his publications span various interdisciplinary studies. His contributions have been widely recognized in both Czech and international academic circles.
