TONAL REALIZATION IN SEMI-DISSYLLABLES IN BAOULE NANAFOUE

Summary/Abstract: The phonological status of tonal units in the description of tonal languages continues to question researchers and/or specialists in Language Sciences. The scientific debate between phonological tones and phonetic tones in the realizations of supra-segments (tones) is enriching research and becoming increasingly interesting in the analysis of prosodic phenomena. Possible tonal influences between different tones in a given lexical string may be at the origin of the change in status of a tone. The focus here is on items with a CCV lexical character, i.e. semi-dissyllables with an underlying CVCV dissyllabic structure.
