Summary/Abstract: Anthropomorphism is a trap of interpretation of which we are nowadays well aware when we talk about animals. Anthropocentrism is more recent and less identified. We discuss here a few terms used in the field of horsemanship or hippology to highlight the implicit meanings they convey and how they always place us advantageously in relation to horses. Beyond semantics, the change of a word could sometimes have consequences in our ways of treating animals.
