Summary/Abstract: In the life of a parish, there are often some groups of believers who share similar age and social position, the same type of commitment or similar life problems. One of the very important groups in the Church is the young generation, and children among them. The task of the preacher is to notice the presence of these groups and adapt both the content and the way of preaching to them. The homilist is to reach children with God’s message. The word of God is to save the child, not to entertain. In today’s preaching, care should be taken that the commonly present multimedia means do not dominate the inherently interpersonal event of preaching. The homily is a meeting between the speaking God and the listening man through the preacher. The preacher is to take into account the fact that this meeting takes place in the liturgical space, and this requires appropriate behavior. This, in turn, is supposed to teach respect for the mystery of the Word. It expresses itself in concern for formation liturgical Eucharistic.
