Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the problem of cooperation in teaching teams as one of the subcultures in the school’s organizational culture. The research on coop-eration among teachers was reviewed in order to determine the features common to the organizational culture of the teams they create, conducive to or hindering the creation of a cooperative environment at schools. The axis of the research were questions about the specifics of the organizational culture of teaching teams and the leadership culture of school headteachers which interact with each other. Attention was paid to the phenomena of culture of individualization, ostensible cooperation, and culture of work behind closed doors. Finally, recommendations for educational practice based on the results of the presented research were formulated. The article emphasizes the importance of cooperation for the efficient implementation of the basic tasks of the school, building the quality of education, as well as for the process of implementing educational change.
