Summary/Abstract: The article presents selected results of qualitative research conducted among novice music teachers in primary schools. The aim of the research was to learn about the experiences of music teachers in the context of starting work in primary school. The first, theoretical part, presents selected theoretical concepts that apply to the professional socialization of young teachers and the social and individual conditions of this process. The strategy of individual cases was used for the methodological assumptions of the conducted research. The research was primarily focused on issues related to the didactic, educational and organizational dimension of their work, and the main research problem was included in the question: What challenges do young teachers who start their work face and how do they try to cope with them? The conclusions presented in the last part of the text indicate the numerous challenges faced by young music teachers and also bring closer the actions they take to meet these challenges. The conclusions of the conducted research clearly indicate the need to develop various forms of support for novice educators, both at the legislative, organizational and psychological level.
