Summary/Abstract: The journalists’ choice of verba dicendi in the function of reporting verbs seems to be one of the tools enabling us to measure the objectivity of the news narrative commentaries. The analysis of the sample material from two Polish TV news programmes (Fakty and Wiadomości) depicts the range of assessing verba dicendi used by journalists, and helps verify whether previous remarks on the linguistic features of those verbs are applicable to the media language.
