Summary/Abstract: (Emma életének értelme. Marosvásárhelyi Nemzeti Színház, Tompa Miklós Társulat). Radu Afrim is one of the most talented and versatile artists in Romanian theatre today, who is clearly attracted to non-dramatic texts. It is therefore hardly an accident that he chose to stage a text by the contemporary Italian author Fausto Paravidino, Il senso della vita di Emma (The Meaning of Emma’s Life) at the Hungarian Company of the National Theatre of Târgu Mureș in the 2023/2024 season. Marcela-Livia Dan’s review focuses on the question: to what extent does the production bear the director’s unmistakable signature?
