Summary/Abstract: The metaphysics of Thomas Aquinas makes it possible to explain truly existing reality. A correct understanding of the world provides the basis for the strengthening of religion. The whole of creation as existing thanks to the Creator is good and beautiful. The absolute is the principle of existence of every created being. Man, as a rational and free being, sees its goodness, beauty and harmony in the knowledge of the real world. The philosophical analysis of all natural beings, and in particular the aspirations of man, leads to the recognition of God as the source and goal of all created beings. For man, God is the goal of striving and the fullness of happiness. The thought of Thomas Aquinas frees man from man from the bondage of mythology in its various forms. It also helps to overcome the gnostic and Manichaean understanding of the world, especially of mater as evil and of man as lost in an evil world. The world in good because it comes from God. Man also has the source of existence in God and in him he can find his own happiness.
