Summary/Abstract: This article is a review of an academic publication by Agnieszka Gondek, i.e. Philosophy of Education. The publication emphasizes the special relationship between philosophy, pedagogy and other scientific disciplines. Based on existing philosophical sources, with particular emphasis on the achievements of the interwar period, Gondek presents the time frame and the most important postulates of philosophers of that period. Then, she discusses the pedagogue’s deontology in relation to philosophy and the need to teach propaedeutics of philosophy by qualified teachers in secondary schools. The condition of secondary schools in the years 1990-2015 was also assessed, revealing a certain crisis. Gondek emphasizes that while teaching and upbringing should primarily take the subjectivity of the student into account, and teaching elements of philosophy can contribute to an adolescent’s ordering the world of and support his or her self-development. Then, attention was paid to specific scientific disciplines with which philosophy enters into correlation. The publication clearly marks and justifies the need to teach propaedeutics of philosophy in secondary schools, highlighting a series of positive effects of its proper teaching
