Summary/Abstract: Pluralistic societies are characterized by an individualistic understanding of freedom, subjectivization of lifestyles, a diversity of worldviews, and diverse morality. They spread scepticism about obliging and common ideals, relativism in matters of religious and moral nature, and even – to some extent – moral nihilism. In this article, we will present a general characteristic of a pluralistic society, analyze the condition of religion and the Catholic Church in changing socio-cultural conditions, and formulate some challenges for the Catholic Church in Poland. The entire discussion closes with a brief post-scriptum.
