Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was to compare the views of deportations from the Zamość region presented in diaries written by Zygmunt Klukowski (1885-1959) and Adam Mastaliński (1899-1963). The former author is known, among others, for his Dziennik z lat okupacji Zamojszczyzny (1939-1944) (2020) and the latter for his Z kart męczeństwa Zamojszczyzny. Dziennik spisany pod okupacją hitlerowską (2011). For each author, the following issues were discussed in detail: the course of deportations, methods used by the Germans, defence methods used by Poles, emotions accompanying deportations. In the Conclusions, similarities between the two diaries were pointed out (striving to preserve the memory of German crimes in diary form, reporting on events happening in a similar area). Differences were also highlighted. It was shown that they resulted from the aims assumed by the diarists. For Klukowski, diary is a document of historical value, and for Mastaliński it is a „friend, trusted person“ and a personal record. Despite the differences, both accounts seem to complement each other.
