Summary/Abstract: In the account (article) are outlined the aims of the establishment and the activity of the Bulgarian National Maritime Agreement (1920 – 1944) and the means for their achieving. The main directions and achievements are traced in their economic, political, sports and cultural dimensions, subject to the main slogan of the organisation “To the Sea and the Danube for progress!”. The understanding for progress and rise, and the search for ways for their practical application, are the main driving force of this public formation of unique character. The most valuable sources for tracing the topic are the archival documents and the printed editions of the organisation itself.
