Forgeries of works of art in selected judgments of Polish courts

Summary/Abstract: The article comments on the discrepancies in judgments of Polish courts regarding the interpretations used, introduces the facts, and examines which legal provisions are used when assessing the seller’s liability for specific inauthentic works. The aim of the article is also to verify whether the parties in a transaction observe proper behaviour and what methods courts consider reliable when assessing the authenticity of works in evidentiary proceedings.
